OCTOBER - BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
One of our dear local artisans, Kristina Madh, owner, small batch coffee roaster, Cloudland Coffee in Georgia is a survivor of breast cancer. Kristina received rehabilitation treatment and counseling from the local non profit Turning Point Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Center. Often an overlooked part of the process of cancer treatment, they helped Kristina get back to health to run her business. She wanted to do something to give back, so she is donating with every sale of her HOPE BLEND. Saturday October 22 - SPIRITS AND SPICE FESTIVAL. From 2pm-7pm. Event attendees will be able to get their “boos” on by walking the Downtown Spirits Trail and purchasing specialty cocktails at different participating locations, spice things up by tasting numerous types of chilis at the Chili Cook-Off, and have some skele-fun on the Twisted Trolley Tour ride. The event will feature live music, a craft market, and activities for the kids. This event is eerie-sistible for all ages!
Friday, October 28 - HALLOWEEN COSTUME AND CRAFT - Newnan Carnegie Library - From 4-6pm. Halloween costume contest, paper pumpkin decorating, and a bat craft. Snacks will be served. Lastly, it is with a heavy heart to share the news that Miranda Allen (Line Creek Leather), our amazing, strong, filled with love and talented local artisan friend passed away on Monday, October 3. Her beautiful light, strength and words that she shared during her time of battling her health were a gift to all. She will be missed greatly. Peace, love and hugs Miranda.
