Giving Back

We love to give back and hug it forward in as many ways as we can. Sending hugs across the states, giving actual hugs at the shop, providing eco-friendly gifts and products to show love to the earth and our well-being, and supporting local artisans and small businesses are missions we live by daily.

Still after COVID-19 remains in our world, communities are almost getting back to normal. But aside from the 2020 pandemic continuing, there are still needs for local nonprofits to help their communities. On March 26, 2021, an EF-4 tornado wiped out a section of neighborhoods and businesses in Newnan, Georgia near Newnan High School and Historic Downtown Newnan area. The community came together quickly with many ways to help those affected. Being a gift business, we decided to create Easter Hug Boxes for the local kiddos directly affected by loss. We sent off 150 Hug Boxes to our local nonprofit Hope Global Newnan

Hope Global Newnan

Hope Global Initiative is a community development corporation that provides comprehensive and holistic services and programs for the disadvantaged and underserved children, youth and families in communities, locally and around the globe. Our desire is to provide a central location that offers programs that include education, workshops, leadership and character development, mentoring, and recreational field trips. We believe that we should help people develop their skills rather than focus on their deficits. We believe that if a sense of individual responsibility is established the community at large can do life together with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Only then can we nurture, support, strengthen and transform communities by building strong families and healthy, safe neighborhoods.

Race for the Orphans Newnan Georgia

In 2020, we were able to sponsor another local nonprofit,
Race for the Orphans, And if you have visited our shop or received a Hug Box as a gift, you were given a bookmark that was dedicated to them this year. Although they were not able to have the RACE in 2020, God proved His faithfulness and showed His deep desire for children to be adopted into forever families. They were able to still raise $41,000 to help support seven adoptive families bring their children home! Next year their event will be held on May 1, 2021, when the community will run and walk to change more lives!

soles for cole

In 2019, through our Hug Someone Campaign, we made our first yearly donation to a wonderful local nonprofit, Soles for Cole. Soles For Cole is an organization that raises money towards finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) while also loving and supporting the families who are affected by this disease daily. In 2013, SFC started with a 5K race that was started by Cole Croteau who suffered from CF, and his best friend Christian Cullen. In 2014, Cole left this earth at the young age of 17 for heaven, but leaves a legacy of love with all that SFC does today.

We have also donated and built partnerships with many causes along the way. Since 2015, the Hug Box has donated to many great causes (Click on their name for details about their causes):
Best Friends of AtlantaCamp Sunshine,  JCM FoundationJoey's Toy Shop,  MOPS of First Baptist Church of Newnan,  Newnan-Coweta Humane Society,  Shakin' Not Stirred for Parkinson's Disease
