Hope Global

On March 26, 2021, an EF-4 tornado wiped out a section of neighborhoods and businesses in Newnan, Georgia near Newnan High School and Historic Downtown Newnan area. The community came together quickly with many ways to help those affected. Being a gift business, we decided to create Easter Hug Boxes for the local kiddos directly affected by loss. We sent off 150 Hug Boxes to our local nonprofit Hope Global Newnan. Hope Global Initiative of Newnan is a community development corporation that provides comprehensive and holistic services and programs for the disadvantaged and underserved children, youth and families in communities, locally and around the globe. Our desire is to provide a central location that offers programs that include education, workshops, leadership and character development, mentoring, and recreational field trips. We believe that we should help people develop their skills rather than focus on their deficits. We believe that if a sense of individual responsibility is established the community at large can do life together with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Only then can we nurture, support, strengthen and transform communities by building strong families and healthy, safe neighborhoods.

Race for the OrphansIn 2020, the Hug Box sponsored RACE for the OrphansThe mission of RACE for the Orphans is Raising Awareness Compassion and Education about the needs of orphans. Each 5K event is a fundraiser to help local families who adopt an orphan. The adoption momentum grows when a community comes together to reduce the world’s 150+ million orphan population, even if by just one child at a time.

Soles for Cole In 2019, the Hug Box made a donation to Soles for Colea local nonprofit created in 2013 by Cole Croteau, who suffered from Cystic Fibrosis, and his best friend Christian Cullen. In 2014,Cole went to be with his Father in heaven. His life and legacy is felt today as Soles For Cole continues to raise money towards finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) while loving and supporting the families who are affected by this disease daily.
