8 Months into 2025!

Well we're 8 months into 2025. Time flies, especially as you get older and "busier". And this means only 4 months until Christmas! So take some time to have down time or do little things when you can to prepare or take a moment to breath and be in the present. And that means taking care of your health and happiness so you can keep on living with energy. Below are 3 things you can do everyday to help. These are taken from the podcast by Mel Robbins. 3 Small Habits to Change Your Life.

These are simple science-backed habits that many experts all agree are the most important for your health and happiness. They work. Try it for a week! Good habits continued have long lasting positive results.

EXERCISE.
Get up and out of the chair or off the couch. Exercise for 30-45 minutes at least 3-4 times a week. I walk every morning (with my dogs) for 30 minutes and then it becomes 45 minutes. And I'm outside in the fresh air, in God's creation, pulling in all of that good energy too. Lift weights 2 times a week. You should be able to do 11 pushups. If you can't do that... start with your knees down or do them against a wall and work your way to it. Do them everyday! It takes seconds. Work on your balance. When I'm standing working at my computer or brushing my teeth I do tree pose to work on my balance. Yoga is perfect for this at any level. We are designed to move. If you stop moving, your body stops working well. It doesn't matter how old you are. Start today!
PUT THE PHONE DOWN.
We waste so many hours a day on these phones and they are stealing your time, energy and peace of mind. Stop the scrolling and wasting your life away. This is easy to remove from your daily life. You will feel more connection and more joy putting the phone away. Be present with the people next to you. Don't have your phone by you all of the time. And do not be on it before or at bedtime or keep at your nightstand. If you have to use it for an alarm - set it across the room. Phones have been stealing our energy from us. Become the greater energy!
CONNECT TO PEOPLE.
Be in the moment. Look at people. Smile. Wave. Compliment them. Say hello. Hug when there is an opportunity. When you are lonely, reach out to someone. Relationships alleviate stress. When you are with someone give your total attention to the child, parent, friend, co-worker, whoever is there in that moment. When you are thinking of someone, call them, text them - connect. Connection is the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued.

And a very important side note that I would like to add (that science experts may not include). To have total JOY in your life, have a relationship with Jesus first, then Others and then You. In that order everyday, will bring JOY.

Rocco was surrendered by his owner. He is super sweet and loves people. Loves walks and is good on a leash, and he knows "sit". He is around 7 months old So, good age to learn more commands. Currently 32 lbs, Corgi Carolina mix. Current on vaccines and neutered. ADOPT ROCCO!

The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Hug Box has been an advocate for healthy product gifting all along. It is one of the Hug Box's core values. One of the reasons the Hug Box was created was because a dear friend got breast cancer. I wanted to send her a nurturing gift. I couldn't find anything online that I thought was uplifting and healthy.. all natural. I decided to create my own gift basket and source locally with all natural products.
