It's May! Time is flying by! So much going on this month.
And speaking of time flying by... this month we are celebrating our 8 year anniversary when the Hug Box gift box officially launched online and started sending hugs across the US! I never imagined what it would grow to be and so grateful for all the supporters along the way! It is such a joy to be in a loving community of huggers!!
Monday, May 2 - Thursday, May 5 is National Small Business Week - National Small Business Week is celebrated during the first week of May every year. The aim of this week is to honor the entrepreneurs of our country, who have played their part in bringing new ideas to life and growing our economy. The Hug Box would like to say thank you to all those who have supported this little gift business for the last 8 years. It was a dream of mine for many years, and so thrilled I still get to send hugs every day!
Sunday, May 8 is Mother's Day - Send the mom in your life a hug! Here are some gift ideas.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month - Please checkout this website for more information. For locals, please checkout Sea Glass Therapy!
Saturday, May 7 is Market Day in Mainstreet Newnan, Georgia
Come shop local artisan goods on the Court Square. Market Day is every first Saturday of the month. And don't forget the Hug Box shop sells local artisan goods and gifts every day at the Hug Box. AND Newnan Coweta Humane Society will be out front of the Hug Box shop again with adoptable furr babies!
Speaking of local artisans... introducing some of our talented artisans that are newer to the shop and ALL happen to be MOMs!. So excited to have them on board! Other MOM artisans at the shop: Miranda Allen (Line Creek Leather), Heather Bergholt (Pick it Place Designs), Marci Turnrow (Turnrow Bath, Body & Home), Suzi McKibben (Wrens Nest Pottery), Joy Flowers (Joyajewelry).
JULY RAE O'SUNSHINE
July’s jewelry making has become her passion and the key to her well-being. Her pieces incorporate gemstones, crystals and lavabeads, which are perfect for essential oils (All of these are purchased from a local vendor in Fayetteville). These elements are important to her creations for the holistic and spiritual healing properties and significant to her personal.
Charlotte's designs feel at home with their soft, calming and delicate attributes. Her designs especially connect to those that love her state focused creations. She explores each state or town and all it’s known for to blend that into a piece, whether it’s a sticker, notecard or print.
JENNI HORNE - ARTSYORANGE
Jenni is an acrylic painter and creates jewelry using her art in combination with metal and leather. She has been an art teacher (currently teaching high school photography) for over 20 years, with a BFA from Auburn University in Alabama. Her love for teaching radiates as she also offers workshops on occasion online and in person.
And last but not least... Candle Wick Book Company has officially opened!
If you are in Newnan, Georgia, come see the cozy book shop around the corner (which is exactly in the back of the Hug Box). We share the same address (13 West Washington St.), but you can get to the book shop via the Hug Box entrance or the book shop entrance around the corner on Brown St. We are also connected inside where our coffee and tea bar is located, so you can walk on through to either shop! So excited for our new partnership and to have someone in the space to collaborate and have fun!
Speaking of collaborations...
