Renew in June

Renew in June

I was thinking about what to write for June while I was out walking with my dogs this morning (and needed some content since being behind on my blog and email for the month) when my good friend sent me something to listen to, as my friends and i do often - share things to remind us what life is all about. The month of May was busy at the shop, which I am grateful - all of the love and support from my customers always prevails. Honestly this last month was overwhelming with other tasks on my plate as well, As usual constantly thinking about how to keep the business moving and growing, pay the bills and open up to getting more help, plus keeping up with staying in touch with loved ones, taking care of my family, home, dogs... taking care of me. All of the thoughts that run through OUR heads everyday. This is when I pause and have chats with God and pray and listen and wait. He always steps in when I open my heart to Him. And the message my friend sent me in that moment did just that... reminded me... He's got this. I wanted to share that message with you. CLICK HERE to listen. It sums it all up for me and something I need to remember daily. I hope it gives you the same renewing, however that is, that it gave me.

This month is The Hug Box's 9 year anniversary since launching. We appreciate the love and support that many of you have given us over the years to keep the Hug Box growing and gifting. The VIH evening will include refreshments, gifts and giveaways. If you are one of our very loyal and local customers, please be on the lookout for an email for your VIH invite and please RSVP ASAP. First 20 to RSVP will receive a Swag Bag to collect that evening. The third week in June is Animal Rights Awareness Week. Here are just a few ways you can show love and support:

  • Know where your products come from and determine whether they are obtained humanely.
  • Support conservation and preservation efforts locally and worldwide.
  • Support spaying and neutering programs in your area, including those for feral cats.
  • Volunteer at local shelters.
  • Buy cruelty-free products.
  • Adopt shelter pets instead of buying. Many pet stores sponsor adoption days for shelters.
  • If you buy, research the breeder. Ask for references and a tour of their facility. A reputable breeder will not decline these requests.

"It was a God thing that I stumbled across the Hug Box when looking for something to cheer up a friend. I told Vicki what I needed and she customized and delivered to my friend that day. My friend's exact words were "How did you find this place?" She said they now have a new customer. And her signature, whether in an email, text or just verbally when signing off, is "hugs". So this was absolutely perfect for her. I can't express enough, even with my technical difficulties, that Vicki made the perfect box and made it all happen. I will be using them again and have told everyone about the Hug Box. Thanks for all you did for me."
